The wedding season is already here and many ladies with natural hair are spending time on Google, Pinterest, and Facebook natural hair support groups etc. to seek inspiration on wedding hairstyles. Whether you are a bride or bridesmaid, the wedding budget can freak you out and leave you helpless when it comes to the look of the day.
Fret not! Here is a guide to a simple and affordable hairstyle that you probably want to try. The best part is that you can do it yourself 😉
Items needed:
- Water in a spritz bottle
- Gel of choice
- Bobby pins
- Marley Hair
- Two small sized hair bands
- Hair brush
- Wedding Hair accessories.
Step 1:
Start off by spraying some water on your natural hair. Water enables the gel to settle smoothly.
Step 2:
Apply gel around your hair then use your hair brush to spread the gel as well as to lay your hair towards the centre (or towards where you prefer to hold the bun). If your hair is short, keep brushing until the strands lay flat towards the centre.
Step 3:
Using your hairband, hold your hair to the center then using a satin or silk scarf, wrap your hair for 15-20 minutes so that the strands can lay perfectly.
Step 4:
Take another hair band and widen it using your right hand. As you hold the Marley braid with your left hand, place it at the center of the widened band. Do a crisscross with the hair band so that you have braid secured as shown below.
Step 5:
Unwrap the scarf.
Place the hairband (The one holding the Marley hair) at the center of your hair then begin to roll the Marley hair around the center to form a bun. For it to be secure, use bobby pins.
Neaten out the bun and tuck the ends of the braid for a seamless finish.
Step 6:
Add your accessory to give this look the wedding touch.
Voila! 6 easy steps to an easy, affordable and sexy wedding updo. 😉
